Six weeks on - the larvae are growing
The solitary bee adults finshed their work at Whitsun bank holiday weekend. I saw the last of the golden female bees filling in a hole on the box on the Monday, and then like the rest of her generation she faded away exhausted to die somewhere nearby.
Now it is the larval phase that takes the genes forward.
