New solitary bee species?
Friday, May 2nd, 2008Have been away from home the last four days, but the weather was apparently too wet and cold for much progress. Have noted that several smaller bees that have taken up the offer of the brown paper straws (placed in aluminium cans last weekend). … and 14 straws have been completed (8 today) on one side! Of course, I have no idea how many cells in each, unlike with the plastic tubes. What is also very interesting is the presence of three bees that are different to the golden abdomen colouration of the main population. Images and movies to come.
